Who is responsible

berkbayri.com is run by Berk Bayri. For any question about your data, use the contact form.

What I collect, and why

  • Contact form: name, company, role, email and your message, to read and reply to you. If you tick the box, your email is also added to the essay newsletter.
  • Booking requests: name, email, a description of your situation and the time slot you pick, to confirm a call. A confirmed booking creates a calendar event.
  • Newsletter: your email address, to send new essays. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • Abuse protection: forms store a one-way hash of your IP address, not the address itself, to limit spam. A hidden honeypot field catches bots.

Analytics and cookies

I use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages and essays are useful: page views, scroll depth, link clicks, form usage and audio narration use. Where the law requires your consent (the EU and EEA, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Türkiye and a few other countries, detected from your IP address at the moment you load a page and not stored), it loads only if you press Accept in the banner. If you decline or ignore it there, Google Analytics is not loaded and sets no cookies. In other countries it runs by default and you can switch it off at any time. Pages you open inside the admin area are never tracked.

You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings in the footer, wherever you are. Withdrawing consent switches analytics off and removes the Google Analytics cookies from this site. Your choice is stored in your browser (local storage) and is not sent anywhere.

Who processes your data

  • Google (Firebase hosting and database, Google Calendar for bookings, Google Analytics if you accept).
  • Resend, which sends email: replies, booking confirmations and the newsletter.
  • Cloudflare, which sits in front of the site to deliver it and filter abusive traffic.

Legal basis and how long I keep it

Replies to your messages and booking requests rest on taking steps you asked for. The newsletter and Google Analytics rest on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. I keep messages and booking details for as long as the conversation or engagement needs them, and keep a newsletter address until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and Türkiye's KVKK you can ask to see, correct, export or delete the data I hold about you, object to its use, and withdraw consent. Use the contact form and I will reply. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
